Every morning, she watered the plant on her windowsill. Every morning, it looked the same.

“Nothing’s happening,” she thought.

Then one day, while wiping down the shelf, she found an old photo. There was the plant, months earlier—smaller, thinner, barely reaching the window.

She looked up. It now leaned into the sunlight.

She had been watching so closely that she’d missed how far it had grown.

Some progress is easier to see when you look back.
